Why This Research Desk Exists
Transparent solar is easier to understand when the window comes first. We organise the subject around what a building component must do, not around a predicted breakthrough.
For readers crossing disciplines
Marble Kiosk Munch is an independent educational website for architects, students and technically curious readers. It connects materials research with optical measurements, electrical output and the practical demands of building glazing.
We do not sell solar windows, provide installation services or certify products. The guides are a way to ask better questions before a specification or investment decision, not a substitute for qualified professional advice.
How we frame evidence
We prefer primary papers, standards organisations and documented technical tools. A source is attached to the claim it can support. Naming a university or laboratory does not establish a product’s performance.
We distinguish a measured result from a simulation and a laboratory device from an installed system. Where an important variable is not reported, we describe it as unknown rather than supply a favourable assumption.
Comparisons with boundaries
Optical and electrical figures should belong to the same device where possible. Areas, spectra, assembly definitions and test conditions should remain visible. We do not assemble a hypothetical product from the strongest unrelated numbers.
Sources may describe different stages of a technology’s development. Historical papers provide context; they are not presented as current market specifications.
Corrections and observations
If a definition is unclear or a source does not support a statement, tell us which page and passage needs attention. A DOI, public report or methods section is more useful than an unsupported headline.
References to external organisations are for research context. Marble Kiosk Munch is not affiliated with the institutions, standards bodies or software projects cited in its guides.
